| LAPCAT (Long-Term Advanced Propulsion Concepts and Technologies) is an EU funded study into future aircraft technologies. Phase II is set to start in October 2008.
Stemming from Reaction Engines work on the Skylon launcher, this Mach 5 aircraft could travel from the UK to Australia in 4.5 hours. The Scimitar engines burn hydrogen to propel the vehicle to Mach 5. Though much larger than the Airbus A380, it could still utilise conventional runways.
Model constructed from original drawings in StrataStudio Pro CX 5.
